Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Trade Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the busy workload to meet the required deadlines and schedules.

As a Trade Assistant you will work on a variety of tasks, including but not limited to wrapping and strapping of items, washing machines in the wash pad, loading and unloading machines, traffic management in and around the workshop/yard, cross checking gate releases, assisting with storage of attachments and spotting machine movements on site. 

Location: Bunbury Residential, 6230
Rosters: 5 days on, 2 days off (Monday to Friday) – 8 hours each day.

Other duties will include the following:

  • In charge of Loading and Unloading Machines from Floats / Trailers / Containers
  • Mocing machines or spotting machine movements
  • Assisting with traffic on site
  • General Yard Duties inclusive of cleaning yard and workshop
  • Assisting other departments as required
  • Load Checking
  • Local vendor pick up & drop offs
  • Occasional minor workshop an dyard repairs
  • Final clean of new machines
  • Operate forklift in and around the workshop and yard.

To be successful the following is required: 
 

  • Forklift ticket required
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and manage dialy tasks autonomously
  • Experience working with machinery would be desirable
  • Be well aligned with and exhibit WesTrac’s core values of Safety, Pride, Accountability, Respect and Customers

            Highly Desirable:

  • Previous Machine Movement
  • Previosu experience working as a tardes assistant/yard role
  • Dogging / Rigging
  • Working at Heights
