Our Opportunity

Work Location: Perth – Abernethy Rd, Forrestfield. Fortescue Hydrogen Systems is located on the traditional land of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

Roster: Monday to Friday

As part of the Capital Delivery team, the Project Engineer will assist with technical compliance, scheduling, estimating, reporting, resourcing and management of activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and budget to the customers’ requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the project phases and teams from feasibility, detailed design through procurement, installation, commissioning and handover. Engaging with Suppliers and Contractors, for design, equipment procurement and installation services.
  • Create a Capex Basis of Estimate for projects to develop a budget for funding approval.
  • Create and maintain project scopes, plans and schedules.
  • Create and maintain project action lists, deliverable lists, risk registers, and management of change workflows. Chairing progress meetings and producing minutes/actions.
  • Creating and presenting project update slides for management meetings.
  • Ensuring the project’s compliance with the applicable codes, HSE, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
  • Ensuring Fortescue’s values are adhered to during project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering or a related field is essential.
  • Project Management diploma or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Prior project engineering / project management experience (minimum 5 years) preferably in the energy, infrastructure or resources sector.
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in collaboration with other like-minded team members and adjacent project teams (also delivering a variation of the system).
  • Highly responsible and trustworthy, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work with multiple-discipline and complex projects.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently., chair meetings and deliver presentations.
  • Experienced in MS Project and Cost Estimating tools.
