The Role:
Ventia is on the hunt for a seasoned Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Diesel Fitter ready to dive into action! Join our elite team dedicated to the Defence Maintenance contract. Picture yourself on the front lines and join our Vehicle Mechanical Crew working across the workshop floor maintaining a diverse fleet of Defence vehicles.


This isn’t just a job—it’s a full-time, permanent role where every day brings new challenges and triumphs. Working Monday to Friday, starting at 07:00am sharp and wrapping up at 03:45pm, with Fridays offering an early escape at 12:00pm (that’s 38 hours of pure dedication each week!). Located at Palmer Barracks in South Guildford, this position isn’t just a job; it’s your chance to join Ventia and make a difference a on Defence base.


The payrate for this position is $37.41 per hour & an additional $13.81 (negotiable) per hour allowance for the right candidate.


To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Carry out scheduled servicing and vehicle inspections
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle faults
  • Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials
  • Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts
  • Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs

Requirements:

  • Trade Certificate III as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or Diesel Fitter
  • WA Driver’s Licence – HR is preferred
  • Certificate II Automotive Air Conditioning or willing to obtain
  • Open and clear communication within a team environment
