About the role 

We are looking for enthusiastic and strong performing individuals to join our operations team at East Intercourse Island (EII) Dampier.

This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated Operator who is looking for a long-term career in the mining industry. This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to the Karratha region, Western Australia. 

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor and working in an exciting environment within the EII Operations team, you will be required to:

  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with all Rio Tinto Company Policies and procedures,
  • Safe operation of fixed plant equipment to meet daily production targets & KPI’s
  • Execution of wash down activities to meet plant hygiene & shut wash requirements
  • Conduct shore side mooring operations
  • Identify & capturing defects of Port assets via Paperless Maintainer / SAP notifications

What you’ll bring:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Fixed plant experience (working with conveyors, reclaimers, car dumpers and stackers being beneficial)
  • A current or eligibility to obtain a MSIC
  • A current WA ‘Manual C Class Drivers license
  • Ability to work in an inclusive & diverse team environment
  • Ability to execute work in alignment with Rio Tinto values and behaviours
  • Eligible to work in Australia without requiring visa sponsorship
