Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of thee Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

Roster: 8D6R – FIFO ex Perth

Fortescue are currently seeking an experienced Fire Systems Mechanical Technicianto join our team at Cloudbreak on a 8:6 roster. The successful applicant will be responsible  in delivering safe, high quality maintenance work as required to the Infrastructure Services team across the entire mine site operations and camp facilities, including testing, repair and maintenance of fire sprinkler, hydrant systems and pump sets.

Key Responsibilities

  • High quality safety and continuous improvement practices
  • Carry out planned and routine maintenance activities
  • Diagnosing and fault finding
  • Oversee contractor groups on modular and major plant shutdowns
  • Replacing fire pipework and/or sprinklers
  • Use in SAP to raise notifications, close out work orders, time confirmations and cause codes

Qualifications and Experience

  • Australian Recognised Certificate II in Fire Protection
  • 2 years relevant experience – trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or Plumber encouraged to apply
  • EAHL qualification desirable
  • Experience with all aspects of fixed plant maintenance ie screens, conveyors, sizers, scrubbers, crushers, balance machines and chutes
  • Experience in computer based maintenance systems – SAP desirable
  • EWP, working at heights, Rigging, Forklift and confined space training desirable
