About the role

We are currently looking for Processing professionals to provide technical support and leadership for operations, maintenance and central support staff, assisting in improving plant availability and performance in order to maximise plant throughput whilst minimising the associated costs. Optimisation and improvement of the process plant and processing operations will be a key role. We have roles that are both Perth and site based.

These roles are a great opportunity for experienced and highly motivated Process Engineers or Metallurgists to improve our Iron Ore operations.

Within these roles as a Process Engineer/Metallurgist you could be:

  • Providing support in developing processing metrics, ensuring data fidelity and accurate reporting.
  • Acting as a credible technical resource to stakeholders in own sector, ensuring plant capacity is fully optimised and production targets are met.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives to support current and future strategy and driving best practice in the Iron Ore business.
  • Providing subject matter expertise for processing unit operations across our existing and future dry, wet and concentrator processing plants.
  • Fostering a culture of zero harm.

What you’ll bring

  • Background in process engineering or related technical discipline with fixed plant operational experience
  • Ability to work across discipline and geographic boundaries, connecting people to collaboratively solve problems
  • Experience in teams that have delivered improvements in safety and operating performance, and continuous improvement objectives
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Process Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or equivalent)
  • An analytical approach with strong problem solving, report writing and presentations skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • A team focus and ‘can-do’ approach will ensure your success in these roles.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Experience in data management platforms, including OSI PI and SQL databases
  • Experience in Microsoft suite of programs including Power BI (Advanced skills in Excel will be highly regarded)
  • A growth mindset & drive, to be open to new ideas to continuously improve and support our Plant, our Team & ourselves
  • A ‘C’ class Australian manual driver’s license is required.
