Our Hydraulic Mining Shovels (HMS) & Drill Rigs business unit is currently growing with new workshops, facilities & future development planned to commence in the coming months.

About The Role

WesTrac’s NEW Drill Services business unit is seeking a motivated Drill Fitter to join our team. Working FIFO from Perth, our Drills Fitter primary role is to maximise operation and product reliability on the fleet of Caterpillar blast hole drills working with clients across Western Australia to deliver to the customer’s standards and expectation.

As a Drill Fitter you will be equipped with the latest training on new model equipment to ensure you are setup to succeed. You will work with a highly supportive group and be part of a continuous improvement and solutions network team.

The NEW Drill Services business unit offers product specific career pathways, from building basic product knowledge, to Product Support Advisors through to Field Service Specialists for Blast Hole Drills and Hydraulic Mining Shovels.  

Roster:

Various FIFO Rosters on offer depending on skill set and customer requirements. (eg: 8/6, 2/1 & 2/2)  

To be successful the following is required

  • Australian-recognised trade certificate
  • Previous experience within field service or mine site environment
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude and experience on surface blast hole drill rigs
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel various mine sites
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships.
  • Strong communication skills and a dedication to safe work practices
  • OEM or dealership experience is advantageous.
