About the Role

Reporting directly to the Central Conveyor Superintendent within the Operations Services Team, this role is responsible for collaborating with a number of different stakeholders and leading a highly skilled team of technicians to safely execute the mechanical-inspection maintenance of conveyor systems across the Central  Pilbara region.

Your duties will include:-
 

  • Follow the BHP Charter, Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations (including acting as a Section 26 Appointed person).
  • Set and maintain clear safety standards with your team. 
  • Lead safety investigations and risk assessments and provide quality reviews.
  • Build capability through coaching, mentoring and provide technical advice and support to your team of maintenance technicians.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Coordination of mechanical maintenance and routine inspection activities of conveyors.
  • Working with multiple internal stakeholders and contract service partners in both baseload weekly and shutdown work.
  • Management of maintenance work strategies and performance metric reporting.

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following:
 

  • Strong communication skills and a track record of achieving results through using your influence.
  • The ability to successfully lead and work within a team environment and build effective working relationships.
  • Experience or a fast learner with work management software tools (e.g. 1SAP)
  • Five years’ experience in fixed plant maintenance or equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Experience in detailed scoping and maintenance planning for multi-disciplined workgroups operating in a Fixed Plant Maintenance environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Minimum of C class manual driver’s licence

Location
 

You will be based at Yandi operations on a FIFO basis working on a fly-in fly-out 8/6 roster.  FIFO village accommodation will be at Spinifex Village. Flexible work roster arrangements are able to be considered on a case-by-case basis.
