Our Opportunity

Location: Eliwana/Flying Fish, Pilbara region, Western Australia (90 km west of Tom Price), on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

Roster: 7 days, 7 nights, 14 off – FIFO from Perth and Busselton.

Join the exciting redesign of Fortescue’s Flying Fish project at Eliwana as a Maintenance Technician. In this essential role, you will support our skilled tradespeople by assisting with the maintenance and repair of large-scale mobile mining equipment. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist tradespeople with the maintenance and repair of heavy mobile equipment (HME).
  • Support the setup and organisation of tools, materials, and workspaces.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks under the supervision of qualified tradespeople.
  • Help with the installation and maintenance of technology systems on mining equipment.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with Fortescue and site-specific safety procedures.
  • Participate in routine inspections and basic diagnostic tasks to identify equipment issues.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Services Technician/Trades Assistant or in a similar role within the mining or heavy industry sector.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • High regard for safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • HR Driver’s Licence (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
